From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God

These sunflowers painted a beautiful picture of the crisp October air in the central valley of California. Prior to seeing these flowers, the photographer walked 6 miles for the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life 2010. This photographer spent two hours walking and reflecting on his beloved family members who died from cancer. He wondered if science would ever be able to discover a cure for cancer. Upon further consideration of this subject, he concluded that there has been a cure for cancer for over 2,000 years.

But the cancer that this photographer had in view was an illness much more debilitating than the worst conceivable cancer known to man. This type of cancer is woven into the genetic structure of every man, woman, and child.

Every person is slowly dying from this disease--regardless of whether they realize the presence and reality of it. The term for this profound illness is sin. As the Bible states in Romans 6:23 . . . For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. But the gift [deliverance from eternal death and brought into fellowship with the God of this universe and His Son Jesus Christ] is the cure for cancer spoken of by this photographer.

Jesus Christ came into this world to save people with sin. People who die and believe on the Lord Jesus will live [be with God] forever. Dying without believing and trusting in Jesus Christ will lead to a second death [eternal damnation and punishment--in the absence of God]. As Jesus Christ said in John 11:25-26 . . . Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
