People who have never lived in a region that produces large quantities of fruits and vegetables are likely unable to perceive the true cost of readily available produce. Even people who live within a stones throw from such groves are likely just as blind to this reality.
This story is dedicated to an unknown Mexican immigrant worker. God knows his name and the author knew his name at one time. Nevertheless, the story is quite simple and very eye-opening. Jose Sanches, which is not his real name, began picking fruit when he turned 17 years old. When this story was penned, Jose was 33 years-old. Jose sought medical attention at a local community hospital following a bout of severe back pain.

Sixteen years of seasonal farm work is likely to blame, in part for this man's chronic back pain. The Holy Bible tells the children of God quite simply, “You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt."--Exodus 22:21
Please pray for this man and his family that he might recover and be able to return to work and provide for his family. Please cry out to the LORD for this man's eternal livelihood. If he has already been saved by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, it is a matter only known by God and Jose. Please pray for all migrant farm workers in the United States and across the world. Cry to the LORD of hosts that their hard labor will be appreciated and that He will provide for their every needs. Pray that all sinners who aren't reconciled with Jesus Christ would be led into His glorious kingdom.
