| The body can live without food for many weeks. Our flesh can adapt to small periods of extreme thirst but a soul deprived of hearing the words of the LORD is in an extremely frightening place. Yet, even if God takes away His truth from a land, the truth will remain in the hearts and souls of men who hide the Scripture in their heart. May it be that if God has rescued your soul from the miry pits of sin and death that you will be resolved to long for and desire the word of God more than anything. Psalm 42:1 - 2 . . . As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? |
