Earlier this year, I was walking up-and-down the coast in American Samoa and an unexpected car stopped. Gazing in the window, I saw two friends I hadn't seen in a while. They asked where I was going and I told them, "Down the coast until I get tired." They asked if I wanted a lift and I responded, "No thank you, I'm gonna keep on walking and enjoy the nice ocean breeze and the beautiful sunshine." They told me they were headed to Tisa's Bar & Grill, a place of which I had never been to before. My friends kindly told me that Tisa's was another mile or so down the road. Low and behold, I walked right up to several signs which pointed the way to Tisa's Bar & Grill. I began to wonder if people have ever tried going to Tisa's through an alternate route. It is completely possible that people in days gone by may have rejected the directions given to them by islanders and the signs which state so simply, ONE WAY . .. OPEN . . . Tisa's Bar & Grill. Yet if simple directions and signs aren't enough to convince someone, I perceive nothing will.
Something much similar yet significantly more important is the way man can enter heaven and be with the Lord Jesus Christ and His Father in heaven. Jesus said so simply in the fourteenth chapter of the gospel of John . . . John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Jesus answered a very simple question that one of His disciples, Thomas, had asked Him.
John 14:5 Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?"
Inasmuch as previously noted regarding the directions to Tisa's Bar & Grill, if one fails to follow simple directions, it's likely that they will remain lost and seeking for something that cannot be found. There may be many ways to arrive at Tusi's but there is only one clearly defined path there--for the signs point the way. Likewise, there is only one gate in to heaven and it is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ Himself couldn't have said it more simply . . . John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Man cannot enter heaven through Joseph Smith and his restored gospel. Heaven's gates cannot be found through mother Mary and the Roman Catholic Pope. Nor can Buddha bring you to heaven. Following the path laid down by Jehovah's Witnesses will only lead you into eternal damnation and never-ending weeping and gnashing of teeth. Being the son or daughter of someone who trusts in Jesus Christ alone isn't enough either. All must call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in order to be saved from the eternal Lake of Fire which was created for the devil and his angels and for all who come not unto the Lord Jesus Christ.
